Words Like ‘Soul’ Are Not the Exclusive Right of Religion

Not of any specific religion, nor of ‘religion’ in general.

It is therefore high time for a kind of ‘science of the deeper self’

that distinguishes itself from ‘religion’ in the sense that it is not based on a dogma or a story. You can compare it with astronomy that has emancipated from astrology +/- in the age of Enlightenment. Astronomy as a science has benefitted from astrology, but has also neatly cleaned up the latter. In astronomy, stars are looked at in a different way. Something similar happened with the science ‘chemistry’ at its emancipation from alchemy. Something similar can now happen in the domain of ‘religion’ that may pass into the ‘science of the deeper self’.

Of course it is to be hoped that the essential matters will be preserved

and cleansed of a lot of nonsense.

There are still people being engaged in astrology and alchemy as there probably will always be people engaged in specific religions. At the same time, it’s good that there is scientific emancipation. Without astronomy, we still would not understand much of the universe and the place of our world in it. Without chemistry we would have accomplished little technological developments that shape our lives today.

Without ‘science of the deeper self’ we make little real progress in the domain of our inner world.

Once this science has evolved, one will probably find it the most important of all.

And then one should feel free to speak about ‘soul’, ‘God’ etc. Those terms indicate different things in different contexts.

“One can not say what cannot be said, but words can make us listen to the Silence” (D. Laing)“

So.

One might ask where ‘God’ is, if he actually is everywhere. One might ask which religion is ‘right’ in terms of how ‘God’ looks like. Man or woman? One or many? Or maybe as three that are actually one? One might ask: If at most one religion of many may be right (so the others are wrong), how big is the chance that there is indeed one that isn’t wrong? One might wonder … and keep wondering.

But IF God is everywhere, then He is also in us. Then we are God. Maybe just a particle of God… but at the same time each particle is the whole. If one of us looks at the world, God is looking.

“Looking with eyes of soul

you see your own inspiration

and the inspiration of the world.”

What about the Jesus Politics?

The teachings of Jesus in the New Testament depict a figure intensely focused on Compassion, humility, and the internal transformation of individuals rather than directly on political systems.
