Never Surrender

Keep following your ideals. This presupposes a continual search for what your ideals are. This again presupposes a constant search for who you are.

What’s in quitting?

This doesn’t mean that you cannot or should not change your mind. What it does aim at is being proud of following your ideals also if they bring you into dire circumstances.

When the going gets tough, keep going. By the way, that’s when you can learn valuable things about yourself, like what you are really capable of, what you are really worth ― if that tells you anything.

The search for who you are

This should not be taken lightly, especially if you want to ‘go for it.’ Spending much energy in a direction that doesn’t fit with your deeper self and that doesn’t give you deep motivation in return is a sure path to burnout. This is why we see so much burnout nowadays, and more to come.

In AURELIS, you find many tools to help you in this search. Also, it is a primary objective of AURELIS coaching.

You might choose for comfort.

The comfort may lie in conforming to what is given to you most easily ― the straightforward paraphernalia of what happens to be a comfortable life in a given time and place, depending on that time and place.

If you do that again and again, you get in a state of comfortable numbness. While doing so, you might eventually die like a flower bud that never opened. Is that your choice? At least, you should be able to make that choice explicitly.

If it frequently is your choice, you have surrendered. This text is about not doing that.

Because:

What about your soul?

This is, of course, what it is really about. Never surrender your soul or anything soul related. It is much too precious. If your soul is at play, then let it play for quite a while. An additional advantage is that this is a profoundly healthy – even though sometimes dangerous – attitude.

Note that this is not ego-istic. On the contrary, it’s about transcending ego to a huge degree of Compassion.

Be your total self, conceptually and subconceptually. This is a goal that you will never attain, but that’s OK. It’s a direction. My admonishment is to never surrender in the striving. Your struggling for an ideal can be your most precious asset.

Never surrender.

“We will never surrender.”

As you know, these were mighty words, greatly influencing an entire war. The reason for their power was what this text is also about. The complete sentence – half unspoken but captured by most – was something like: “We will never surrender to an enemy who is keen to take away our soul.”

The people reacted to this complete sentence. Many hardships were overcome. Eventually, the war was fought to the full and ended in victory.

Wow.

But this is not only about wars. Even more, it’s mainly about preventing wars. Your total self is needed for this and much more. It is personally needed to lead a full and worthy life for yourself and – through you – also for others.

On top of that, the world needs you.

Never surrender.
