Mental Patterns and AurelisOnLine

This starts from the view of the human mind as an immense bunch of mental patterns. AurelisOnLine is a tool to help you change these patterns from inside out, towards your aim, and congruent with yourself.

This text starts from theory. For the pattern view, see Patterns of Everything. You find a more user-oriented explanation at How AURELIS innerly works, or an animated video about the same. I advise you to (re)read these first.

AurelisOnLine is a set of 1100+ meditative exercises, here available for free (with login). Pragmatically, you can dive in immediately. You can also use the freely available AURELIS app on any smartphone for the same kind of exercises. The app is oriented to acute situations in a few domains.

Symptom-provoking patterns

If patterns are in everything, they are also in anything that provokes a symptom in a broad sense, anything that leads to an issue one wants to change. An interesting question is which features a pattern needs to exhibit to gain the strength to provoke a persistent issue.

Perhaps most of all, it needs to be a deeply embedded pattern, broadly distributed and entangled, and therefore, difficult to change. One feels this as its being related to many things, yet at the same time being challenging to grasp. In one word: depth.

Other relevant features are related to general features of subconceptual processing.

Deep patterns can be persistently symptom-provoking. This way, most chronic symptoms (from depression-related to chronic pain or hypertension) are probably linked to deep patterns.

Self-perpetuating patterns

These warrant special mentioning. They are patterns of patterns that can mutually enhance each other. Constituting patterns may be relatively superficial, but in their acting together, they have the same features of depth.

In my view, self-perpetuating patterns are really behind many mental and psychosomatic problems. Parts of such patterns can be innerly mental, while others can be anything else. Being of different origins doesn’t hinder them from being part of the same self-perpetuating pattern. With subconceptual processing involved, as is frequently the case, one can speak of subconceptual or ‘unconscious self-perpetuating patterns’ (USPPs). More about this in my e-book 3.

One can see USPPs as whirlpools – as I described in Whirlpool of Disease – pointing to the need to avoid getting stuck in them, the COVID whirlpool being one example in which much potential has been left unrealized.

Now we are ready for the following.

Patterns in AurelisOnLine

Each AurelisOnLine session can be seen as the enrolment of several patterns made to make contact with the user’s deeply inner patterns. Just to get a first idea, this can be compared to the clutches of a car. Changing gears means that you let moving parts disengage and reengage in the desired way. The parts ‘take on each other,’ and on you go.

AurelisOnLine patterns ‘take on’ the user’s deep patterns to bring them into movement in health-enhancing ways. Does that seem easy or complex? I guess it’s both. Is riding a bicycle easy or complex? Once you get the knack, it almost spontaneously happens beneath you. That’s because your subconceptual mental processor (your inner mind) has learned how to deal with it.

It ‘takes on,’ and off you go.

AurelisOnLine is like, with each session, learning to ride a bike. After learning it a few times, it may go easier.

However, the main aim is where you’re riding toward, and the things you learn underway, the patterns you encounter ― the superficial, the deep, the self-enhancing.

Shared effort

It’s my job to make good bicycles. It’s your job to make good use of them.

We are a team.

A future partner of the team will be Lisa.

This may seem rather mechanical.

That’s just the way I present it now.

In reality, patterns are personally dependent, multi-faceted, and dynamic. That’s one of the reasons why I developed several exercises for each domain. They are dynamic keys for being used in dynamic slots.

Then, of course, there is an entirely worked-out philosophical basis behind the whole endeavor.

The goal is NOT to change anyone in any mechanical way,

but to respect each person (user) as an organic being in perpetual need of growth. All AurelisOnLine patterns are like food, water, and sunshine needed for this growth toward a state in which the symptoms almost spontaneously diminish or disappear for the reason of not being needed anymore. As any organic, well-supported being, the user can gain Inner Strength, and grow toward being more himself, a growth that can only happen from the inside out and through a profoundly pattern-related approach.

Finally, the ethical side of all this is of utmost importance.

So, it you want to grow as a total person while relieving your own suffering and that of others, you kow where you can find much support. It demands your explicit choice and no small degree of effort.

Is it worth it, to you?

Five Aurelian Values

Since AURELIS is about rational depth, ethics is important. This comes in the guise of 5 ‘aurelian values’: openness, depth, respect, freedom, trustworthiness. Starting from the total human being as measure of morality, there is of course nothing sacred in these five. It’s a very subjective choice. In principle, it could have been five others, Read the full article…

Daydreaming: Time Well Spent!

We – almost – all daydream at least once a day, shifting our attention from the external world to internal mentation. This wouldn’t be so if not very important. Why? Using brain scans such as fMRI, scientist discovered the neural basis of daydreaming, being a set of brain structures which turn on in between cognitive Read the full article…

Power of Placebo < Autosuggestion

The placebo effect is well known, but not well understood. Many explanations have been suggested, including belief, hope, classical conditioning, expectation, endorphins, and the meaning response. All boil down to autosuggestion , in the sense of ‘communication with the nonconscious’.
