I Believe

I confess: I do indeed believe.

I believe in Beauty

because beauty brings motivation to believe in myself and live this life.

No beauty, no me.

I believe in beauty because I feel such. Firsthand.

What else can I do?

I mean: look at this world.

I believe in Beauty, as I believe in beauty of many, many things and people, including myself. And so:

I believe in Me.

Not just as self-confidence, an obvious thought.

Yes we all can, if we believe in ourselves. But there’s more.

I believe in Myself as a being worthy to Live. Ha! A life that is infinitely interesting even if it would last only a few more minutes.

Yep. I believe in life… and in anything possible to enhance it.

I believe in growth. I believe in the future. I believe in Me. Firsthand.

What else can I do?

Not just the little ‘me’, of course!

I mean the big ‘Me’. The one that I encounter for instance in meditation. The one that I keep falling into until I don’t know whether I’m beyond the end of Me. The one that the little ‘me’ is completely in awe for. The one towards which the little ‘me’ doesn’t mind whether it’s about love or Love, beauty or Beauty, Me or Anything.

And including all:

I believe in Love.

Old-German: ‘be-lieben’, where ‘Liebe’ is German again for ‘love’. Etymology is sometimes so clarifying, no? And so nice: the word ‘believe’ itself, pointing to love, shows perfectly what it’s eventually about. Who would have thought so? Who could have doubted?

Religion has of course always been about the feeling… until we forgot

and went on thinking it was about God.

For instance: for ancient Egyptians, it was clearly about the feeling during thousands of years. Long before any present-day religion even started.

How far did we go?

I believe in Love and that belief is the most essential I can imagine.

I believe in Love because I feel it firsthand.

What else can I do?

Nothing.

And God?

I believe God is Love. God is Beauty. God is Me. All this or whichever one prefers or yet Something Else.

It doesn’t matter. And that is perfectly OK. I am all at peace. Shoot me if you want. I won’t ever say anything different.

Some clouds in the sky are floating by.

The End of NOMA

‘Non-Overlapping MAgisteria’ (NOMA) is the traditional division between science and religion. Did it ever truly work as claimed?
