{"id":7717,"date":"2021-08-01T11:54:00","date_gmt":"2021-08-01T11:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aurelis.org\/blog\/?p=7717"},"modified":"2021-09-19T11:56:21","modified_gmt":"2021-09-19T11:56:21","slug":"coaching-note-on-communication","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aurelis.org\/blog\/communication\/coaching-note-on-communication","title":{"rendered":"Coaching Note on Communication"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3>To communicate = everything at once.&nbsp; Any division is artificial.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Give people what they really want in your communications.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other words, try to get the colorit and respond to that,&nbsp; instead of responding to what you think the person might feel or might need on the surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the human painting, the colorit is always important.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>People can be very grateful when you show them that you understand them&nbsp;from <em>within<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With one warning, of course: &nbsp;the person may have resistance to what is going on inside. Then, for you as a person, it is a risk to be connected to this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a coach-coachee relationship, you would do well, as soon as you notice this resistance, &nbsp;to be open about your concern in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>But more frequently, people are mainly talking besides each other.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In action-reaction, this game can last for a long time (many years).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is no coincidence.&nbsp;It is related to how nature (evolution) created us: good enough, no more than that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The problem is that it\u2019s difficult to test this colorit directly since it mainly lives on a non-conscious level in both partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This can be solved with a lot of patience from the coach:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>You make an assumption.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This woman wants her husband to love her above all.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>You are waiting for an excellent opportunity to say something based on your assumption.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We talk a lot about your husband here, don\u2019t you think?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>You yourself do not put forward your assumption, but you give the coachee an opening to do so.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>How do you see the future with him?&nbsp;Would you like it differently?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The hardest thing in communication is \u2018open attention.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To do this, you must be able to let go of conscious control over your attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Open attention\u2019 does&nbsp;<em>not&nbsp;<\/em>mean that you divide your attention over as many details as possible.&nbsp;The \u2018openness\u2019 does not lie in the object of your attention but in the subject: yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Openness\u2019 means that you do not immediately project your thoughts or even form a new opinion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You halt the process of rapid opinion-forming within yourself<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Especially if it takes up space for yet another opinion. An opinion arises? OK. You stay open. Maybe after a short while, something completely different comes to mind. Through this process of staying open, your non-conscious gets the chance to develop.
