To \u2018carry on\u2019 is what makes us human"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cThe task is almost impossible and we surely face a certain death\u2026 So what are we waiting for?\u201d It\u2019s a phrase that has a curious ring for me. It\u2019s morbid for sure, but it\u2019s heroic at the same time. It\u2019s the stuff that leads to legendary performance. It\u2019s what makes the true artist leap beyond any conceivable boundary on his singular way to produce something that his contemporaries aren\u2019t even ready for. Only the future is ready for it. One little problem, namely that this future will only see him in the past, is to such a stormer nothing but a detail. He goes for it. Like a snake, he sheds his skin if needed. He climbs up the pole and at the top of it, he makes the final jump. He \u2018carries on\u2019, not because he\u2019s mad (although his opinion about this might not be widely shared), but because he deeply cares.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u25ca\u25ca\u25ca<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It grabs me somewhere at the bottom of my heart. It makes me stand up in the middle of a hurricane. Yep. It makes me do \u2018foolish\u2019 things. But then I feel deep inside that this foolishness is what makes a human being really human: \u2018going beyond\u2019. Transcending what is obvious. Taking the next step, right until there is no more. Drinking the whole cup.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u25ca\u25ca\u25ca<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Dissatisfaction (in the sense of feeling frustrated) has nothing to do with this. I would even say: it only starts when dissatisfaction has <em>no longer<\/em> anything to do with it. In this sense, it may be something \u2018bigger than life\u2019. Evolution has made us want things by giving us \u2018urges\u2019. But then we come to a point where we reverently say farewell to evolution, as well as to this kind of \u2018wanting\u2019. Instead, we can put a different \u2018wanting\u2019 in place, a wanting that doesn\u2019t come anymore as a wave from the sea, but as the sea itself.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u25ca\u25ca\u25ca<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It\u2019s not anymore about \u2018having a goal\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It\u2019s about \u2018being there\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u2018There\u2019 being: beyond the goal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u25ca\u25ca\u25ca<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I know this is crazy by all standards. But I don\u2019t care. It\u2019s beyond \u2018craziness\u2019 too. So I look at it from the other side. There I see a universe that is incredibly more interesting, more beautiful, more \u2018totally human\u2019. Looking back, I see machinery, machination, machiavellism, frustration, addiction, even much more addiction, and boundless fear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u25ca\u25ca\u25ca<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Looking forward, I see people wo are \u2018forever young\u2019. Surely they die, but they live forever, because they live in each other, in the past, in the future, in everywhere and all times. They are not \u2018me\u2019. They are not even \u2018me\u2019 and \u2018me\u2019 and \u2018me\u2019. They are \u2018Me\u2019. And \u2018Me\u2019 is \u2018You\u2019 at the same time.
