They are also meant to be insights for life. Zen literally means \u2018meditation.\u2019 It may be a pure source of inspiration \u2014 nothing more, nothing less.<\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote>\n<p><b><span style=\"mso-ansi-language: EN-US;\">Buddhism<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"mso-ansi-language: EN-US;\">I use terms and insights from Buddhism in these poems. Buddhism in general is to me a lifestyle tradition. Also, it is a broad universe of viewpoints. My take on it is personal and my errors in representation are only my responsibility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"mso-ansi-language: EN-US;\">I like Buddhism mainly when it&#8217;s fierce and daring, while at the same time gentle and bent on doing good for everybody. Striving for the impossible, undeterred.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"mso-ansi-language: EN-US;\">With no-striving upfront, the total-striving is the grandest. This is a paradox, not a contradiction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:quote --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:quote --><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>The term \u2018parallel\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!-- \/wp:quote --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>has a specific meaning. [see: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/aurelis.org\/blog?p=2546\">What is \u2018Parallel\u2019?<\/a>\u201d] This is related to the functioning of our brain. The poems also hint at a \u2018parallel world\u2019 that one can discern from a specific mindset.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>It is, of course, the same world, but seen from a different viewpoint. Or should I say, <em>with <\/em>a different viewpoint? Broad patterns become more discernible. Associations that are usually invisible become apparent.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:quote --><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>To me, this is an important asset one can get from meditation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!-- \/wp:quote --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Some meditative traditions talk about <em>non-dualistic<\/em>. If dualistic means conceptual \u2013 with conceptually distinct entities \u2013 then non-dualistic is the subconceptual domain. In the extreme, this becomes empty of concepts. One can eventually also see in this the realm of poetry in general. It doesn\u2019t surprise me that I came to the domain of poetry as a medium of expression for these deep ideas that, at the same time, can get fairly emotional.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:quote --><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>Quite an adventure.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!-- \/wp:quote --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>I hope this doesn\u2019t confuse you. I hope it clarifies.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t need to leave behind the scientific endeavor. We don\u2019t need to blow up common sense.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:quote --><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong>On the contrary!<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!-- \/wp:quote --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>[see: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/aurelis.org\/blog?p=2705\">Poetry is Not the Absence of Rationality<\/a>\u201d]<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Also, poetry should not be analyzed.
