In memory of a personal experience.<\/h3>\n

Sitting at a bench<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

looking over a field of grass and a pond. Trees in the distance. Sunshine. Late afternoon. Very relaxed.<\/p>\n

Becoming the trees.<\/p>\n

You may see this as a mystical experience. I do, if ever there is one.<\/p>\n

Being the trees.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

No difference between them there and me here\u2026 in experience. Rationally, at the same time, I perfectly knew the difference. It\u2019s not that I \u2018lost myself in the trees\u2019 or anything like that.<\/p>\n

No scary stuff. Nothing to be afraid of. Still, the experience was \u2018complete.\u2019 Without any doubt, I was the trees. The trees were me.<\/p>\n

My first advice to you, dear reader<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

when you ever have such an experience, is to not be frustrated for not having it again and again. You may yearn for it as much as you like. Enjoy the yearning. Don\u2019t get frustrated.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s there all the time, waiting for you.<\/p>\n

This advice reminds me of Mother Theresa who, apparently, has had some visions of being close to God\/Jesus. But then these experiences didn\u2019t come back to her. Apparently, she suffered \u2013 at time immensely \u2013 for the rest of her life, doubting in frustration of \u2018why?\u2019<\/p>\n

It was waiting for her. She never reached it again.<\/p>\n

The temporal eye<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Science is cute sometimes.<\/p>\n

Studies reveal that when applying a strong magnetic field over the temporal brain lobe of subjects, they become prone to get experiences that can be called \u2018mystical.\u2019<\/p>\n

They are.<\/p>\n

This doesn\u2019t mean you can rightfully reduce mystical experiences to some \u2018neural phenomenon\u2019, let alone \u2018disease.\u2019 At least, not more than you can reduce any visual experience to some \u2018eye + visual brain phenomenon\u2019, let alone \u2018disease.\u2019 It\u2019s just looking. No need for any reduction.<\/p>\n

Open your eyes and see the world as it appears to you. Then close your eyes and see what happens. Open them again and see what happens.<\/p>\n

Open your temporal eye and see the world as it appears to you. Then close your eye and see what happens. Open it again and see what happens.\u00a0Well\u2026 OK\u2026 It\u2019s a bit more difficult\u2026 The principle is the same.<\/p>\n

Do animals continuously look with temporal eyes?<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Perhaps. It\u2019s hard to say.<\/p>\n

Maybe we really have been thrown out of Eden for eating too much apple.<\/p>\n

Anyway. I think it\u2019s interesting enough to be able to look both ways. No reduction needed. No exaltation needed, yet permitted\u2026 if it helps you lead a better life.<\/p>\n

Yesterday<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I \u2018was\u2019 at the sea. Due to circumstances, I \u2018was\u2019 there for only a few minutes, with open temporal eye.<\/p>\n

Then I went away.<\/p>\n
