This is meditation, whether on a cushion or in the midst of a busy street\u2026<\/p>\n<p>or while coaching someone<\/p>\n<p>or while just having an everyday conversation<\/p>\n<p>or while enjoying art<\/p>\n<p><u>L<\/u>istening to <u>S<\/u>ilence doesn\u2019t mean that you don\u2019t hear anything else. It\u2019s about <u>L<\/u>istening to <em>more<\/em> than anything else.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>It\u2019s about intensively <u>experiencing<\/u> yourself.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This way, someone else can also experience you.<\/p>\n<p>Very attractive!<\/p>\n<p>The importance lies in this special kind of experience \u2013 even or especially if you \u2018already know\u2019 \u2013 and then also in what may come out of it. However, if during the experience, you conceptualize about what may \u2013 or what may not \u2013 come out of it, you don\u2019t experience yourself.<\/p>\n<p>To conceptualize without experience is horizontal. To experience yourself is vertical. Like the difference between sign and symbol. [see: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/aurelis.org\/blog?p=2367\">Symbols and Signs<\/a>\u201d]<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><u>L<\/u><\/strong><strong>istening to <u>S<\/u>ilence in others<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Say: while coaching, or even while bringing empathy to a medical context. [see: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/aurelis.org\/blog?p=2235\">Empathy in 1, 2, 3 &#8211; Part 1: \u2018Silence<\/a>\u2019\u201d]<\/p>\n<p>For this, it\u2019s good to practice\u00a0<u>L<\/u>istening to <u>S<\/u>ilence within yourself. Through your <u>S<\/u>ilence, you can hear another\u2019s. Even more, it is your <u>S<\/u>ilence itself that does this <u>L<\/u>istening.<\/p>\n<p>Please try to feel that something may be happening; some \u2018deeper truth\u2019 might surface.<\/p>\n<p>Who knows.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Let your <u>S<\/u>ilence be <u>L<\/u>istening<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>such as to me now.<\/p>\n<p>In a way, you may now be <u>L<\/u>istening to <u>S<\/u>ilence in another person, namely me, through this writing.<\/p>\n<p>Feel?<\/p>\n<p>Right now, while writing, I try to be transparent, to let you hear me, to let you see me<\/p>\n<p>for miles and miles\u2026 Nothing special?<\/p>\n<p>Yet this kind of <u>L<\/u>istening \u2013 generally \u2013 changes your life, your environment, the world, everything.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>This is not the end of being critical.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Of course. If <u>S<\/u>ilence would be the same as <u>s<\/u>ilence, it would be the end. Personally, I call this the \u2018Big Mistake\u2019. It\u2019s the worst that can happen. It\u2019s the same mistake as between ego and total self.<\/p>\n<p><u>L<\/u>istening to <u>S<\/u>ilence is the start of a new level of being critical: one with much more opportunity to transcend any possible bias. It\u2019s like being able to look at things from a different perspective, not once but again and again. It\u2019s a way towards not being stuck. It\u2019s a chance to really change. One could say: as through a kind of \u2018distillation process\u2019<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>with as goal not to get rid of impurities, but to let them dissolve.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>They are part of who you are, your personal flavor.
