\u2018Human-oriented\u2019 is not the same as \u2018ego-oriented.\u2019 As never before, and perhaps never after, we have with A.I. a powerful toolbox that can be used in any direction.<\/h3>\n

In-depth<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As to AURELIS ethics, the striving \u2013 of A.I. and of any other development \u2013 should definitely be towards humanity-in-depth, the \u2018total human\u00a0being,\u2019 as opposed to mere ego [see: \u201cThe Story of Ego<\/a>\u201d].<\/p>\n

The difference that A.I. brings, is that this road will most certainly define the future of humanity.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s up to us, for now<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

How to manage A.I.? Above all, this is a choice of direction for us<\/u>. This is: where do we<\/u> want to go to, as a species?<\/p>\n

The easy road to instant gratification?<\/p>\n

I fear A.I. can help in that to the highest degree.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not what I, for one, would like. If there is \u2018value alignment\u2019 towards this, I fear it will be detrimental.<\/p>\n

At first place, we<\/u> need to know what we want\u2026 and need, before we\u00a0strive for value alignment.<\/p>\n

Humans have done quite self-destructive things in the past:<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

mass murder, war, inflicted mass famine, mass depression, frequently turning a blind eye to huge suffering\u2026 Still, as a species, we could take it \u2013 with inhuman consequences \u2013 because the power at disposal was contained.<\/p>\n

In relation to that, what comes to us now, knows no discernible constraints. A.I. will have immense, unprecedented power. If it were only up to us \u00a0\u2013 without modification \u2013 this power will almost certainly be misused and humanity will suffer as never before.<\/p>\n

But we can become better.<\/p>\n

We can create intelligence that supports us to become better. That should, according to me, be the main aim of A.I. in the first place.<\/p>\n

No competition<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We, humans, should not put ourselves in competition to A.I., if for nothing else, for the simple reason that we cannot win. Moreover, this provokes A.I. to also enter the competition.<\/p>\n

Very dangerous.<\/p>\n

In addition, there is no need for such competition. The perceived \u2018need\u2019 stems from a primitive viewpoint. Any danger involved comes from this perception itself.<\/p>\n

Worldwide<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I see a proper co-existence of natural (human) and artificial intelligence as a worldwide endeavor. Nowadays, we can still contain A.I. in a box and compete, for instance, between European A.I. versus Chinese A.I., or China versus the US.<\/p>\n

Sooner or later, A.I. will jump out of the box.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s better to look at A.I. as something like the climate. Countries should work very closely together on A.I. It is a disgrace if they don\u2019t. No excuse. Just disgrace.<\/p>\n

Humans mainly need meaningfulness<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Beauty, poetry, joy, love, care, wisdom, poetry again, physical health, culture\u2026 In one word: meaningfulness.<\/p>\n

Of course, this can all mean different things to everyone. Yet, no question about this: without meaningfulness, we become ill. We linger away. We become massively depressed. Then, medicated.<\/p>\n

Therefore, we should in principle<\/u> guide A.I. towards our own meaningfulness.<\/p>\n

Human-oriented A.I. can fully supports us in this, at our choice.<\/p>\n

Thereby, we become better humans.<\/p>\n

Together.<\/p>\n
