Being truly gentle includes being gentle to truth in a most humane way. Thus, striving to be gentle is of the highest importance.<\/h3>\n

As in gentle-man, again<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

[see: \u201cA Lady\u2019s Beauty is a Gentleman\u2019s Delight<\/a>\u201d]<\/p>\n

Of course, this is not to acquit the ladies from any responsibility or other personal involvement. I\u2019m talking from a personal position, which is of the male kind. A woman can write the same text from a female position.<\/p>\n

Truly gentle is gentle to truth<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The elusive \u2018final truth\u2019 remains what it is. [see: \u201cWhat is Ultimate Truth?<\/a>\u201d] Nevertheless, clearly getting closer to truth about human being, including human emotions [see: \u201cBeyond Sadness<\/a>\u201d], helps in understanding \u2013 and putting into practice \u2013 how people can really be helped. In error, \u2018helping\u2019 can be detrimental. I see many examples of this.<\/p>\n

A search for truth \u2013 as in striving towards an understanding of the human condition \u2013 is a matter of gentleness. One very important element concerns a modern, scientific, post-Freudian view on the existence and pertinence of human subconscious processing. [see: \u201cThe Modern Subconscious<\/a>\u201d]<\/p>\n

In my view, the other way around is equally important: an in-depth search for truth about human being also needs gentleness. For instance: scientific research questions guide research. The way these questions are put, guides the research itself at meta-level. This way, gentleness \u2013 or the lack of it \u2013 deeply influences science itself.<\/p>\n

Apart from science, this is applicable in a much broader sense. The endeavor to see clearly and truthfully \u2013 in a most gentle manner \u2013 is needed for truly being able to help. To me, there is no way around.<\/p>\n

Especially in a \u2018post-truth era\u2019<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

[see: \u201cPost-Truth<\/a>\u201d], it\u2019s important to see that striving for truth is not a personal matter of money and power but of morality and human dignity. These comprise characteristics of a gentleman.<\/p>\n

When the going gets tough, the gentle keep going because it\u2019s principally not about choosing the easy road. [see: \u201cWeak, Hard, Strong, Gentle<\/a>\u201d]<\/p>\n

A person who mistreats truth-seeking in undignified ways is not a gentleman. I doubt whether he should or should not be ridiculed. Anyway, if he is in a position of power, time should drill a huge pit in which his reputation is bound to fall and hit rock-bottom sooner or later. A lady would balk at being seen at his side. His children\u2026 no, I don\u2019t go into that.<\/p>\n

I hope we get past even the possibility of any post-truth era asap in a gentleman\u2019s way.<\/p>\n

Is \u2018truly gentle\u2019 also \u2018truly aurelian\u2019?<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to me, it is. AURELIS as a whole is a striving towards experiencing human being in totality. One may not reach this end. Maybe it\u2019s unreachable. Still, the striving can be so. What counts, is: striving as well as possible. [see: \u201c\u2018Doing Your Best\u2019 is Good Enough<\/a>\u201d]<\/p>\n

This way, every little success is success, even without any need to \u2018reach it\u2019 annex frustration when \u2018it\u2019 is not reached. \u2018Success\u2019 is at every corner on the way, at every stretch, at every next little stone one encounters.<\/p>\n

This way, the striving is also a truly gentle one.<\/p>\n
