It\u2019s altogether a familiar, yet tremendous domain.<\/h3>\n<p>[see first: \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/aurelis.org\/blog?p=1199\">Landscape of Empathy<\/a>\u2019]. Please especially look at the image there before your read this present text.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Dedicated lexicon:<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Growth<\/em><\/strong>: developing qualitative mental patterns at the subconceptual level, of which the <em>results<\/em> may appear into consciousness as \u2018insights\u2019 or general wisdom.<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Compassion<\/em><\/strong>: growing from within the boat. It is your \u2018lifeboat\u2019 to which you can always return.<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Love<\/em><\/strong>: \u2018becoming the stream\u2019. Note that this is very different from <em>emotional contagion<\/em> (see image).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u2018Becoming the stream\u2019: Love = mysticism.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Please do not form an opinion before delving deeply into mysticism. And then even more deeply, surpassing \u2018mere ego\u2019!<\/p>\n<p>In this, as in this whole text, Love is not about a comfortable, pinky feeling. Indeed, one gets it for free, but it can go far. It can be very demanding.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Buddhism<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>is not the only tradition with relevant things to say about this.\u00a0Yet interestingly, present Buddhism (of the last +\/- 2.300 years) is oriented towards a transition from Compassion to Love. Its focus still lies on Compassion (Avalokiteshvara, Guan Yin\u2026 as well as the Buddha Shakyamuni). The next one is literally \u2018Buddha Maitreya\u2019 = of Love, quite in the sense of this text.<\/p>\n<p>What Buddhists do in meditation, is all in all a striving towards \u2018realizing the next Buddha\u2019. Isn\u2019t this one big surge towards Love?<\/p>\n<p>Wonderful!<\/p>\n<p>Thus, one can see in Love a future\u2026 or <em>the<\/em> future indeed, according to Buddhism (and Islam, and Christianity, and every other great tradition)\u2026 of which at present we get glimpses.<\/p>\n<p>In the East\u00a0\u2015\u00a0in the West \u2015 in ANY kind of circumstance.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Becoming the stream.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You look at mountains and you become mountains.<\/p>\n<p>You look at your emotions and you become emotions.<\/p>\n<p>You look at the stream and you become stream.<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t lose yourself. You are not swept away by the stream. You become stronger and stronger.\u00a0The direction is towards the sea.<\/p>\n<p>Then you become sea.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Still growing.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Compassion and Love are about overlapping (performed through very complex \u2018systems\u2019 such as humans) at the level of totality.<\/p>\n<p>Love is not just \u2018a kind of Compassion\u2019. It is <em>essentially<\/em> more daring.<\/p>\n<p>It lets go of the \u2018lifeboat\u2019. In this manner, on the way towards the sea, the boat stays behind.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Love is also daring to be Lonely.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>[see: \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/aurelis.org\/blog?p=481\">The Difference between Being Alone and Being Lonely<\/a>\u2019]<\/p>\n<p>Compassion can in principle be very much \u2018alone\u2019. Think: on top of a mountain, in a hermit\u2019s cabin\u2026 This can also feel lonely, yet in a transition towards Love, there is a new kind of willingness involved to confront true Loneliness <em>if need be<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This doesn\u2019t mean that it always needs to be.
