Religion has played a causal role in many wars and still does. This is the weirdest thing in the universe.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In this blog, I take the position that religion is about more than just a fairy tale. Being raised in a post-Vatican-II Catholic environment, what has struck me most and has stuck till the present day is the saying \u201cGod is Love.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

On top of this came the \u2018summer of love.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1967, I was too young, but just a few years later, the afterglow was part of my musical \u2013 and more \u2013 world. There was an excellent match between that kind of God, that kind of music, and that kind of me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And there still is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

War<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

War is totally incompatible with the above. So, in this day and age \u2013 yes, even now \u2013 we have a big problem. War may be waged, among other things, to \u2018protect our children.\u2019 But as to God, all children are His. That includes the enemy\u2019s children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Killing those breaks His heart \u2014 even, or precisely when these deaths are seen as \u2018collateral damage.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collateral damage? No way!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tears in Heaven<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One can find it weird that God doesn\u2019t mingle, that He lets us do such stuff. This age-old mystery about letting us suffer and cause suffering to others, indeed, reaches its max in war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mystery has never been solved satisfactorily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the only thing one can feel in this regard is the Heavenly Weeping, as shown to us by Jesus\u2019s mother<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back to Earth<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I see every war as proof of absent religion. Thus, seeing one\u2019s religion as a reason to wage war is pure insanity, and that must be denounced as such by all straight-thinking people \u2014 especially those who feel religious, whether or not they also believe in Something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To better understand this, put yourself at the enemy\u2019s side. Even better, go and live there, then form your opinion in the face of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Would you dare then to look into His eyes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can imagine doing this \u2014 now. Do you dare?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or do you believe in a fairy tale, after all?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a fairyland, of course, anything can be believed to feel good, to go with the flow, to take whatever is given if only it \u2018sounds right,\u2019 and also if it does so to a considerable degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No real God would ever want to be at the center of such a fairyland. In other words, this is the opposite of any true religion possible<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If nothing else proves this last assertion, then any war in His name clearly does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyway<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyway, dear believer, whatever your religion, your God prefers your love above your hate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are genuinely religious, your next decision will be the proper consequence.<\/p>\n
