A link between aggression and efficiency is not frequently made. I hope that at the end of this text, this will be remedied.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Whence cometh aggression?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It seems to be as old as, well, much older than humanity. Even so, one might argue that \u2018animal aggression\u2019 is in most cases functional, thus more \u2018humanly understandable\u2019 than the immense upsurges of aggression of which our human world bears witness.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Syndrome E<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

called \u2018Rausch\u2019 in German, is a feeling of elation, even hyperarousal at repetitive acts of extreme violence, further characterized by a diminished emotional reactivity, group contagion and compartmentalization: being able to perform this violence on others while caring about one\u2019s own family or one\u2019s dog. We humans indeed have a knack of acting like the most inhumanely aggressive animals on earth.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

So, are we all just beasts in disguise?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Certainly not. But saying so surely needs an explanation for the above and many other states of aggression.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to me, the appearance of consciousness throughout evolution towards \u2018homo sapiens sapiens\u2019 \u2013 OK, not always very sapiens \u2013 has also made us vulnerable to fall into many a trap. It\u2019s as if nature that \u2018made us\u2019 is looking upon its work this final day and goes\u00a0Oopsie<\/i>. Good intentions, not always an optimal result.<\/span><\/p>\n

But this result is not the way we are. It\u2019s the consequence of some trap that at first place shouldn\u2019t be there.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Humans are not bad, but vulnerable if not well supported.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This goes very far!<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s also cutting through political systems worldwide: are co-citizens \u2013 or we ourselves \u2013 to be trusted or do we need a \u2018strong government\u2019 (political, religious\u2026) to keep everything under control?<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Going deeper into the aggression phenomenon<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

it may not be certain, but according to me it\u2019s quite probable that as a concrete, individual emotion<\/i>, \u2018aggression\u2019 never starts as such. There is always a pre-aggression stage. Talking about seconds or even milliseconds. This pre-stage culminates into aggression by lack of another opening, especially when boosted by consciousness that may catapult us right through the pre-stage.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

So what is this pre-aggression?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

There is a need to get things done. Hence also, in many cases, an \u2018aversion to weakness.\u2019 If the things \u2013 which may be anything: concrete, abstract, personal, societal, deep, very deep, whatever \u2013 do not get done, there is a mounting urge to act\u2026 until it spills over into aggression.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Efficiency<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

is the possibility to indeed \u2018get it done\u2019 in non-aggressive ways, with available means. These means may also be diverse. In many cases, most needed is just an emotional and communicative know-how to put things in proper perspective or to show personal needs or listen to \u2018the enemy\u2019 or even just to \u2018those strange people who are not like us.\u2019\u00a0A basket of elites, for instance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyway, the principle is always the same: aggression is second-choice. People will choose this if there is no proper first-choice in sight. Seeing and being able to act upon first-choice is a question of efficiency.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Conclusion<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

People need proper support. Personally, the more I\u2019m delving into human mind, the less confidence I have in human fate without<\/i> proper support and at the same time the more confidence I have in the same with<\/i> proper support.<\/span><\/p>\n

People are not deeply, morally bad. We are not \u2018beasts by nature.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

We need efficiency.<\/span><\/p>\n
