Of course, this is all hugely subjective. This text says perhaps more about me than about anything else.<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Finding something elegant<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>is definitely animalistic yet it is what no other animal can do better than a human. Apparently, one needs a \u2018very complex processing system\u2019 to do the trick. Even so, the appreciation of elegance doesn\u2019t come for free. Deep culture can heighten sensibility. Without it, one may confuse elegance with snobbery. Elegance is not just in the eye of just any beholder.<\/p>\n<p>When I think of especially \u2018worthy\u2019 people, names come up like Dr. Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Nelson Mandela\u2026 You may not agree but in their own way, I find them all \u2018elegant\u2019. Is this a coincidence? Elegance is not a surface thing. It\u2019s a sign of \u2018depth\u2019. It\u2019s a mind thing and from there, an everything.<\/p>\n<p>Though elegance is beautiful, beauty is not always elegant. What is the essence of the \u2018something more\u2019 that is needed?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Infinitely many things can be elegant<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A line, a hand gesture, an idea, the curve of a woman, a mathematical proof, an argument in a discussion, jewelry, a dress, a philosophy, a smile, a design, a face, an ornamentation, a procedure, an analysis, an architecture, a look, a fashion, furnishings, manners, a swan, a lake, a total person, a pair of shoes, a countenance, a work of art\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Each of these is \u2018elegant\u2019 inasmuch as it has <em>identity<\/em> as described below in a personal kind of mindscape.<\/p>\n<p>You cannot be elegant one day without being open to it every day.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Elegance is Beauty<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>sensitive while striving for simplicity<\/p>\n<p>consistent: also a form of simplicity in the abstract<\/p>\n<p>tasteful, graceful, dignified by a deep striving<\/p>\n<p>focus on essential features, nothing superfluous, no commercialization standing in the way<\/p>\n<p>showing refinement, exquisiteness, sophistication, no \u2018ordinary beauty\u2019, no showing off in order to appear more beautiful than is the case<\/p>\n<p>not striving to be \u2018easily found beautiful\u2019<\/p>\n<p>pleasing to people who are able to appreciate elegance.<\/p>\n<p>never fading<\/p>\n<p>beauty coming from inside, showing itself everywhere<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Elegance is Strength<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u2018much with little\u2019: effective and efficient<\/p>\n<p>pure, with appropriate restraint and as such being able to \u2018cut through\u2019 without distraction<\/p>\n<p>no quest for \u2018easy power\u2019 but for \u2018deep power\u2019, being open to power in less evident ways<\/p>\n<p>striving for \u2018perfection\u2019 in a very human way<\/p>\n<p>effortless because the effort has already been done<\/p>\n<p>confident, authentic, showing presence<\/p>\n<p>refusal to give in, not backing down<\/p>\n<p>daring to encounter oneself<\/p>\n<p>fearless with a dash of daring to be beautiful also when not appreciated<\/p>\n<p>giving oneself in openness, so that feedback can be used to better oneself<\/p>\n<p>being ready when unexpected things emerge<\/p>\n<p>not getting easily hurt, mostly knowing its own worth<\/p>\n<p>humble in ego, not in total self<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Elegance is Wisdom<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>sophistication without overload<\/p>\n<p>showing oneself in deeper layers<\/p>\n<p>no search for easy comfort and fun as if this would be all that is worthwhile<\/p>\n<p>timeless, carrying wisdom of ages<\/p>\n<p>not needing change in order to remain interesting<\/p>\n<p>growth towards more and more what one really is<\/p>\n<p>poetry, a communication to inside<\/p>\n<p>being carried by a deeper knowing<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Elegance is Oneness<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>being \u2018emptiness\u2019 \u2013 not nothingness!
