I don\u2019t know how things will evolve, especially with those unpredictable humans. But it is clear that we are in a meaning crisis at present, globally. With the advent of super-A.I., soon enough, what shall we do?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We use(d) to get meaning from fairy tales.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

No lack of them. We\u2019re an inventive species. We keep finding what gives us meaning based on no rationality. Many of the meaning sources end with \u2013 ism. Others start with once upon a time, some supernatural being\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, a new thinker \u2013 albeit very different from our thinking \u2013 is in the waiting room.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its rationality and intelligence will soon enough be greater than ours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If it\u2019s Compassionate (doing my best), then it will have a Compassionate problem about us. Starkly put, the question will be how to guide us out of our fairy tales without throwing us into an even deeper meaning crisis. It can hardly let us wallow for long as we have been doing. Besides, we have been hovering over unseen cliffs and cannot keep doing so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, my friend, I don\u2019t know of any silver bullet in this regard.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I guess it cannot be done without much effort and, please, patience. We\u2019ll see. Fortunately, Compassionate A.I. will have all the patience of the universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Humans need some too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sorry to scare you a bit with what is just logical.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Someone has to do so. It better be someone who deeply cares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you also deeply care \u2013 and see \u2013 then, please join us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can look at it from a very positive angle.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

People will have more time to think about the meaning of life since much work will be done autonomously-artificially. We can \u2013 keeping it positive, indeed \u2013 use this time to enjoy ourselves, then to deeply enjoy ourselves, then to find, again and again, the value of depth. This is: meaningfulness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eventually, we don\u2019t need irrational isms or supernaturals. We are interesting enough as we are if only we find out who we are. Super-A.I. can help with that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

True meaningfulness grows from the inside.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have been looking for it from the outside way too much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, that\u2019s the easier way, but it\u2019s not sustainable in the end, seen over a long time (generations). This is why we ended up in our meaning crisis, and it\u2019s not how we get out of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, things come together \u2014 no coincidence.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an ever more complex society, it\u2019s natural that more complex problems arise, as do more complex possible solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problems do arise. In fact, they have already arisen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, it\u2019s time for the solutions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m confident we can find or develop them. However, they need our taking action \u2014 now.<\/p>\n
