Can they also feel sacredness transpire through other religions?

Can you?

Sacredness versus reductionism

For the reductionist, the only ontologically real entities are particles in motion, to which any other complexity in the universe can be reduced and explained.

Sacredness is the faith (deep belief) that this isn’t everything ― thus, that reductionism cannot be the measure of all things.

I agree that the human heart cannot pragmatically be reduced to particles in motion. Therefore, the heart is sacred.

What does the ‘sacred heart’ mean?

No magic is involved, no wizard with an ego wand or ‘love potion’ to bend anyone’s heart to a surface-level desired direction.

You feel me coming, but it’s still from afar…

The human heart is too complex for any calculating entity (computer, A.I.?) to fully grasp it, even if the whole known universe would be transformed into such calculating power. It’s just not tractably feasible.

One should be in awe of the human heart. One may also be in awe, for instance, of the universe, but I see the heart as special even in that contrast.

In some religions, especially when going in-depth, it is called the soul ― seen as part of the ultimate sacred, with good reason. At the same time, it is still the heart of this individual person ― human and sacred at the same time.

At the same time, human and divine

Several religions have grappled with this unified concept for a long time. You might know one intimately.

Given its profound complexity, one can see the heart as sacred irrespective of whether there is something more objective that is either the universe itself, its creator, or an immanent yet independent force in everything.

Does it even matter, eventually?

This is why sacredness is essential for all ― one sacredness.

Eventually – and I mean, eventually – the form is important only when shaped by the heart, not the mind.

This being shaped by the heart is to be done personally by each individual. Also, it’s not about people shaping the divine versus the divine shaping people. We just saw this is the same thing, didn’t we?

Therefore, “it doesn’t matter, eventually.“

There is no reduction in this phrase. The ‘not mattering’ happens in the most sacred way ― transcending anything that can be conceptualized to the core.

It doesn’t matter because it is far beyond.

You might recognize a Compassionate stance.

A religious exercise

If you feel sacredness in any form, you can do the following exercise for a few minutes.

Please put much effort into this – as much as you think it may be worth what you are about to encounter.

Go mentally now in the direction of what you experience as sacred ― be it an It, a He, or a She. If you feel any contact – in any way possible – then make even deeper contact. Let yourself go into this for a brief time.

From the very depth, ask if this ‘sacredness’ might surpass concrete forms, one way or another. Is ‘it’ exclusively bent on having worth by itself through having a specific format?

It doesn’t matter because ‘it’ transcends anything that matters.

‘It’ is the mattering itself.

Do you feel this?

If you do, then you feel the sacredness for all.

Religious traditions are as many doors toward this.

Please login to bookmark

    Username or Email Address

    Password

Remember Me

People from any religion can feel that sacredness transpires through their religion.
